Astronomy: Prelude

Hello everyone. I recently ordered a rather splendid looking new telescope, and some adapters to fit my camera to the eyepiece. However I have been very impatient waiting for it’s arrival, and so have ventured out and produced this image:

jupiter

It’s Jupiter! And all four of its main moons, from left to right: Callistro, Ganymede, Io and Europa. What’s most surprising is I was able to get this shot on a terribly unstable tripod, with a terrible 75-300 plastic lens. So the lens has regained my favour, but only a little. @300mm, 100% view. No editing. I can’t believe I never thought of doing this before! Anyway, I’m feeling more inspired than ever, and looking forward to my new kit hopefully arriving soon! Stay tuned.
